It's a Nice Day for a White Wedding...

Thanks to Princess Diana, we have the wonders that are the 1980s wedding gowns.  Sleeves and poofs and sequins and lace and trains and, and, and...

We're dyin em and we're hackin em up!!

Work has started!!!

Amanda, the costume designer has created her vision of what these dresses will be turned into!

We have a cast.  We have dresses.  And away we go!!!

Photographs to Come!!

School has officially started, which means my life's been flipped, turned upside down--kinda like the Fresh Prince...or not.  At any rate, I've been busy wrapping up my summer and all that goes with that.  I have been steadily collecting dresses--and to all who have donated, THANK YOU!!  I need to get my butt in gear, though, and start getting them photographed and cataloged on here.  Right now, there are a lot of dresses hanging on a rack in the UWEC costume shop, on a rack in my living room (I live in a 2 room apt, so you can imagine how awesome that is!), and in the back of my jeep.  I just need to get used to the whole school schedule and then will get some images up here for all to see.  Please check back!

Need A Lot More!

Thank you to the people who have taken the time to contact me about a donation.  I truly appreciate it.  I am a little underwhelmed with the over all response, though.  Please tell your friends and family about this project!  It is almost time to start that pesky fall cleaning--clean out those closets and free yourself of a formal that you will never wear, again!!

Why, Hello There!

I am SO excited to get this project off the ground!  Amanda Profaizor (my Costuming professor and partner in crime) and I have been chatting about this for a while.  It is great to finally see it getting some legs.  I, sincerely, thank all the ladies who have already donated to the cause and I can't wait to see what other dresses get donated.  It has been fun seeing the dresses and hearing the stories about them, so far.

Please stay with us on this project and check into Prom Queen Victoria, regularly, as we document, not only the before and after dresses, but the bumpy road along the way.  This is definitely the biggest costuming project I have undertaken, so it should get funny at points...and sometimes, just plain sad, as I make some epic fails.  I want you there every step of the way!

...but for, NOW...I need DRESSES!!  Bridal, Bridesmaid, Mother of the Bride, Prom, QuinceaƱera...

See you soon!!

Jake

PS:  Tell your friends and contact me at promdress1883@gmail.com with donations!
